Welcome to the First Christian Church of Chicago website! We don't know what caused you to visit our site today, but we are glad that you have chosen to be our guest.

Your being here is not an accident. We like to think of it as a divine appointment, an opportunity that God has arranged for you to get acquainted with us. So feel free to look around, ask some questions, make yourself at home.

You will find FCC to be a Bible-believing church with interesting and practical teaching. You will, also, see FCC as a Christ-centered family, comprised of people of a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Finally, we have opportunities for children, young people, and adults to grow, serve and develop lasting friendships.

What Does It Mean To Follow Christ? - Following Christ doesn't mean that you are perfect. It's not about following some list of religious rules. Discover on this video by best-selling author Rick Warren what following Christ is all about.

What We Believe - In our beliefs, FCC functions on the basis of: Unity in essentials; Freedom in non-essentials; Love in all things. What We Believe contains a concise statement on the teachings that FCC, as well as other evangelical churches, hold as essential.

How We Help You Grow! - Growth, becoming more like Jesus in the way that we think, act and relate to others, is normal for a Christian. Just like in any other area of life - if we aren't growing, we are slowly, or not so slowly, dieing. View our clear and simple plan for helping you grow in your faith.

Urban Plunge Mission Trips - Bring your group to the city to experience what God is doing. Impact the world by reaching out to one city.

When The 'Fasten Seatbelt' Sign Comes On

It first jarred us with the force of two passenger jets on September 11, 2001 ... we are living in uncertain times.

It hit us again last year with the collapse of the housing bubble, the resulting crash in the financial markets, and rippled to our doorsteps in job losses, reduced pay and slashed hours ... we are living in uncertain times.

Just like in those moments of anxiety in flight when you are told to take your seat, and the 'fasten seatbelt' sign is illuminated - you are not quite sure what to expect.

How do we sustain our trust in God during uncertain times? That is the question we will be answering in the upcoming series of messages at First Christian Church of Chicago entitled "When the 'Fasten Seatbelt' Sign Comes On". We will explore four actions that we can take to undergird our trust in God when it seems the only certainty is uncertainty.

Please join us beginning Sunday, June 21 for this series of messages.
